the opening.

This is the opening prayer in the Quran. It is what is recited at the call to prayer in the Middle East. It is an absolutely beautiful prayer. Since we believe that there is no other God, but our God, the Father of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, the gods of other religions do not exist, we can attribute all truth and beauty to our God. This prayer, although found in the Quran, if we just found it and read it, if it was written by Luther or if it was the opening of Paul's letter, we would say that everything it said was true of the character of our God.

"In the name of God (Allah), Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Praise be to God (Allah), the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds; Most Gracious, Most Merciful; Master of the Day of Judgment. You do we worship, and Your aid do we seek. Show us the straight way. The way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, those whose portion is not wrath, and who do not go astray."
